The product is a “post” that at first glance, looks like a board on which one can draw lines and hand write notations when one measures a child’s height. It is an experimental design based on our own experiences of a family respecting “humanity” rather than practicality and convenience. Taking into account the fact that recording children’s growth on walls and posts in houses with a pen is a common activity in many countries and regions in the world, the creators focused in the idea of allowing people to add a little importance in these moments by introducing technology into this ordinary family custom that we tend to forget.

“Height Marking in Wood” was jointly developed with Wacom, Inc. mui Lab designed the interface and model allowing a connection to the ordinary lives of people while integrating Wacom’s technical capability (ink technology).
