研究の背景と目的

今回の共同研究では、放送コンテンツを、生活の流れの中で自然に届ける仕組みを検証しています。 たとえば、リビングに設置されたmuiボードが、天気や電力使用量などの暮らしに役立つ情報を表示する中で、ユーザーの関心に合った文字ニュースを表示します。文字ニュースにタッチすると、テレビに関連するニュース動画が映し出されます。さらに詳しく知りたい場合は、muiボードにキーワードを手書きで入力することで、関連動画を絞り込んで再生することも可能です。

この体験は、スマートホーム規格「Matter」と、放送とデバイスの連携規格「ハイブリッドキャストコネクト」を組み合わせた試作システムによって実現しています。&nbsp; ※この仕組みは、NHK技研との共同研究の一環として実装された仕組みであり、製品版のmuiボードでは現在ご利用いただけません。

mui Lab株式会社（京都府京都市、代表取締役社長　大木 和典、以下「mui Lab」）、小田急不動産株式会社（東京都渋谷区、取締役社長　五十嵐 秀、以下「小田急不動産」）は2024年4月22日に業務提携に合意したことをお知らせします。 両社の提携を通じて、2025年初夏より小田急不動産の分譲戸建住宅「LEAFIA」（リーフィア）に、mui Labが提供する「muiボード」とスマートフォン専用アプリ「mui Kurashiアプリ」が搭載されます。また今後、「穏やかで温かい家族の時間を育むこと」を目的とした、muiボードの新機能を二社共同で開発し、LEAFIAにお住まいのお客さまに先行リリースいたします。

今回の提携は、mui Labが提供するカーム・テクノロジーを、小田急不動産の持つ「重ねる時を、こころ豊かに」というLEAFIAのビジョンに融合させ、お客さまの暮らしの質を向上させることを目的としています。muiボードとmui Kurashiアプリを通じて、親子共に多忙な家族のコミュニケーション課題を解決し、家族が共に過ごす限られた時間の質を高め、家族の思い出が蓄積される空間づくりを支援し続けます。

muiボードとmui Kurashiアプリの搭載 2025年初夏より、小田急不動産が分譲開始するLEAFIAの戸建住宅において、muiボードとmui Kurashiアプリの搭載を開始します。これにより、LEAFIAのスマートホーム化を推進し、お客さまのウェルビーイングを実現します。muiボードは OTA（Over The Air）機能を活用し、入居後も常にアップデートが可能です。最新の機能を常に維持することで、長期に渡って安全かつ安定的なスマートホーム体験を実現します。

二社共同による新機能開発 家と地域、家と自然、住民と住民の間の「ゆるやかなつながり」をデザインする小田急不動産と、穏やかで温かい家族のための時間との調和をデザインするmui Lab両社の知見を生かしたmuiボードの新機能を今後開発していきます。 二社では開発に先立ち、子育て家族の日常を把握するためUXリサーチを実施しました。その結果、「日々の子供との時間が十分ではない」「夫婦間で家事育児の負担に偏りがある、子供も親が忙しいことを理解し自立したい・協力したいと思っている」「子供の成長に伴い、家族全員での時間が減っていき寂しい」といった、慌ただしく毎日を暮らす子育て家族の現状を把握することができました。二社は「どうすればLEAFIAがmuiボードで家族の問題を解決できそうか？」という視点で次の新機能開発方針を定めました。 <ul><li>仕事などで家の外にいても、「常に子供のことを気にかけている」という親の思いを、気持ちを込めて伝える機能</li><li>家族が自発的に家事に協力し、家事をタスクではなく、家族のコミュニケーションの時間にする機能</li><li>家族の思い出を記録し、ふとしたタイミングで思い出を家族皆で振り返ることができる機能</li></ul> 各機能の詳細については、リリースが決まり次第お知らせします。

三菱地所とmui Labは、資本業務提携を行いました。

mui Lab株式会社（京都府京都市、代表取締役社長 大木 和典、以下「mui Lab」）と米国のDSR Corporation（米国コロラド州デンバー、Founder &amp; CEO Anatoli Pechkov 以下「DSR」 ）は、業務提携を締結しました。この提携を通じてスマートホーム世界共通規格「Matter」と、国内で浸透している通信規格「ECHONET Lite」の双方に対応したスマートホームコントローラーを共同開発します。

mui Labはこれまで国内ハウスメーカーとの提携の元、ECHONET Liteに対応したスマートホーム向けのソリューションを提供してまいりました。 一方でDSRは組み込みやIoTソフトウェア業界のグローバルリーダーであり、Matterの策定・開発機関であるConnectivity Standards Alliance（CSA）の前身にあたるZigbee Allianceから規格策定に携わるなど、スマートホーム領域における通信技術に深く精通する企業でもあります。 現状ではECHONET LiteとMatterとの間に互換性がありませんが、今回の提携を通じてECHONET LiteとMatter両方の機器との通信ができるスマートホームコントローラーを共同で開発します。

With the launch of&nbsp;Alexa Smart Properties in Japan, Amazon has partnered with mui Lab, a key domestic platform solutions provider—leveraging its knowledge in its proprietary platform service "mui Platform" to support the introduction of the Alexa skill "Energy Dashboard" to Osaka Gas's experimental housing complex.&nbsp;</li><li>Alexa Smart Properties is an API for providing Alexa, a personal AI assistant, to businesses such as senior living facilities, hotels, condominiums, as well as local governments. Alexa Smart Properties also allows users to access specific Alexa voice services without having to use their personal Amazon account or provide personal information, as the service is provided through a dedicated account with the corporation or local government that provides the service.&nbsp;

About Amazon's Alexa Smart Properties  

NEXT21 is an experimental housing complex of Osaka Gas. Since its construction, it has been used for three main purposes: "housing and living style experiments," "energy experiments," and "evaluation of prototypes for commercialization. With the introduction of the Alexa Smart Properties, residents not only have access to a variety of Alexa functions through the Echo Show 8 installed in each room, but also to information such as electricity usage. In addition, Alexa can send notifications to residents to encourage them to save electricity in the middle of summer or winter when the supply and demand of electricity is tight. Alexa Smart Properties at this facility was implemented by mui Lab Inc.&nbsp;

mui Lab, the Kyoto-based calm-technology startup, today announced that its “mui Platform” has received Matter certification, becoming Japan’s first smart home controller system approved for the industry-unifying IoT interoperability standard. The certification, given specifically for the Platform’s software component** that integrates Matter devices seamlessly, enables the company to license the technology to third parties to help them create their own “calm” IoT controllers to engender peaceful everyday moments. The Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA)’s seal of approval for the platform also signifies the company’s entry to the ranks of Google, Apple and Amazon as one of less than a dozen players in the global Matter controller market. Global licensing services will become available immediately, followed by the release of “mui Board 2nd Gen,” the Matter version of the company’s flagship wooden smart home control board, early next year.&nbsp; “While almost 1,000 Matter devices by dozens of makers are on the market, only a very small number of companies, chiefly global tech giants, have successfully secured Matter approval for their controllers that connect those devices together. We are very excited to bring to market our ‘mui Platform,’ which uses our calm technology not only to integrate devices but also to blend IoT into daily life discreetly,” mui Lab CEO Kaz Oki said. “We envision our calm technology being used more widely in the near future, enabling more people to enjoy quality time at home and work.”&nbsp;

Matter is an industry-unifying connectivity standard for smart home devices. The standard is also intended to ensure stable connectivity and privacy protection through the latest security measures.&nbsp;

mui Lab has participated in the Milan Design Week 2023. In 2022, we have showcased our futuristic concept at the Super Studio and exhibited mui Boards at Archiproducts.
