mui board – Additional Regular Features : Family Fun Record with Stamp Collection
An agent which weaves a relationship where family members appreciate each other through collecting daily good things.
What is “Stamp Collection”?
The new feature of the mui board, “Stamp Collection”, is an application that is created to solve various issues and needs in the family.
“No matter what you do, you can’t get it done.” “Why do I always have to do it? ” – these are the words which are often we tend to link with family chores.
We launched a new application on the mui board created with the hope that it will free you from the mindset of “I have to do it,” and turn it into “I want to do it!”.
“It is not limited to the concept of task management, but can be used for all sorts of things, such as a record of the day the family watched the stars together, a reminder of medication, watering flowers, feeding the cat, and so on. You can enter your goal on the mui board, choose from a wide variety of stamp types and then view, share, and manage your daily accomplishments.
How “Stamp Collection” was born
The mui Lab had an opportunity to conduct a survey related to daily life in some families. As a result, we were able to visualize issues between couples such as “housework is a bother,” “people don’t appreciate it even when I do it,” “I want to show that I did it,” “I want to help but I don’t know what to do,” and “things keep piling up.”
Although the issues faced by each family differed depending on their structure and lifestyle, there is an undeniable fact that there are many things to be done in the family life, and we were sure there is a need for a task management (cleaning, housework, childcare). This was a start of the project. However, Nahori, our designer felt that it was no use making a standard task management application. Instead, what is mui’s unique approach?
“Rather than assigning tasks to someone, Nahori wanted to create an app that would allow people to share their goals and visions of “what is the purpose of doing it? “which she thought may help create motivation. Also, instead of trying to reduce the number of tasks, users can accumulate the accomplishment of what they have done in a way “I did it!” and experience the moments together as a family.
It is often said that “people grow when you praise them,” As is often the case, however, the act of praise tends to be met with material rewards. We rather wanted to enhance more emotional interaction within the family, foster a relationship where people can honestly say, “Thank you for always.” Conveying the value of simple verbal or physical praise would worth itself.
Another thing we took care of was not to limit the functions by setting a firm framework. We want users to explore various ways of using the application, not only for accomplishing family chores, but also for personal achievement and self-reflection. Rather, we designed it so that users can customize it and use it in their own way. By doing so, the mui Lab can explore more possibilities and further develop its functions.
Life Scenes with mui Stamp Collection
“The “Stamp Collection” application is not only for managing tasks that need to be done, but it also allows users to create their own images of life, such as “watching a movie every weekend,” “writing a poem on a full moon night” “looking at the stars with Dad,” and so on. You can use them to achieve and share with your family.
We would be very happy if you could share with us your own ways of using “Stamp Collection” and scenes of “Life with mui”. We would love to know what kind of creative ways you use them, and what kind of development you have seen in your family relationship and life after using it and so on.
